What to Expect
CRD Document Services Inc. is a local business with staff who have both the knowledge and experience to carry out your process serving needs in a prompt and professional manner.
Having to hire a process server as you deal with a legal proceeding can be overwhelming. Let us help you with that aspect of the legal process so you have one less thing to worry about.
Once we have had a look at the documents that you need to serve, we will be in touch with you to obtain some further information in order to make the service go as smoothly as possible and to make the most of the attempts that are made on your behalf.
We will give you periodic updates as to how things are progressing with your documents, usually on the same day that the attempts were made.
We can be reached easily by phone, text, or email in between updates if you have questions or additional information that may be helpful.
Once service of your documents has been completed, we will provide you with proof of service in the form of an Affidavit of Service sworn before a Commissioner of Oaths or a signed Certificate of Service. The type of proof that is required depends on the type of documents that are being served. We prepare the appropriate proof according to the court rules for your proceeding.
Despite our best efforts, sometimes things don’t go as planned and we simply can’t serve the documents. If this should happen, then we would provide you with a sworn Affidavit of Attempted Service outlining the efforts and attempts that were made in order to serve your documents. This document may help you as you move to the next step of the process.
If you would like us to assist you with serving your legal documents, kindly send them via email to info@servingthecrd.ca and someone will be in touch with you.
We are able to serve documents throughout the Greater Victoria Area, from Sidney to Sooke (and beyond), Mill Bay, Shawnigan Lake, and the Gulf Islands.
